James Maddison looks set to depart the King Power this summer and leave Leicester City after five years at the club, but who leads the race for his signature?
Maddison is enjoying a fine season in the east Midlands, tallying nine goals and eight assists in 25 Premier League starts but his club are in grave danger.
According to Premier League betting sites, Leicester remain at serious risk of relegation with odds of 7/4 to go down with just four games remaining to secure survival.
Maddison missed a penalty but provided a sublime assist for Jamie Vardy’s goal in Monday night’s 2-2 draw with Everton, indicative of an up-and-down season for the Foxes.
A host of clubs in England’s top flight are interested in securing the 26-year-old’s signature, who is expected to demand a price tag of up to £50m.
Newcastle are the outright favourites, who were also linked with a move for the England international last year.

Despite being renowned as a set-piece specialist, Maddison’s error from the spot ended up costing Leicester a vital three points which would’ve seen their chances of Premier League survival skyrocket.
The club’s four remaining games are:
- Fulham (A) – 8 May
- Liverpool (H) – 15 May
- Newcastle (A) – 22 May
- West Ham (H) – 28 May
Since Dean Smith’s arrival, Leicester have lost once, won once and earned two draws. This looks to be one of the closest relegation battles in years with Southampton all but down, Everton on the ropes and Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Leicester on the cusp.
