Newcastle are reportedly keen on pursuing a deal for Southampton defender, Tino Livramento, despite the youngster’s recent injury concerns.

The Magpies are keen to continue their transfer business this summer, as Eddie Howe is reportedly keen on adding Southmpton defender, Tino Livramento, to his squad.

Eddie Howe’s side are having a huge summer after finishing fourth in the Premier League, with European football returning to Tyneside for the first time in over two decades.

Rival fans will be worried over Newcastle’s progress following a Saudi Arabian takeover and the club have added huge names to their squad so far.

Key signings have been key for Eddie Howe’s side, as the Toon have added Italian superstar, Sandro Tonali and Leicester winger, Harvey Barnes, to their squad this summer.

Summer additions are reportedly set to continue in the coming weeks, as Newcastle are reportedly interested in adding the former Chelsea defender to the club.

Livramento joined Saints from Chelsea for £5m back in 2021, and immediately impressed in the Premier League in his debut season. Unfortunately, his first season in the top flight ended prematurely when he suffered a serious knee injury ruling out of action for 13 months.

He returned to action for Southampton’s two final games of the season when he featured against Brighton and Liverpool.

These injury concerns have continued into Southampton’s pre-season fixtures, after a substitution against AZ Alkmaar, however the English defender squashed any concerns on Twitter.

He said: “Guys I’m fine, it was planned for me to play 45 before the game! I’m not injured and feel great after another good run out.”

Newcastle are looking to bolster their squad ahead of their return to European football, and with three-years left on his current deal in Southampton, a move to Tyneside could cost up to £40m.
