Newcastle are reportedly monitoring the situation of French defender, Jean-Clair Todibo, as the youngster is set to leave Nice this summer.

The Magpies are keen to continue their transfer business this summer, as Eddie Howe is reportedly keen on adding OGC Nice defender, Jean-Clair Todibo, to his squad.

Eddie Howe’s side are having a huge summer after finishing fourth in the Premier League, with European football returning to Tyneside for the first time in over two decades.

Rival fans will be worried over Newcastle’s progress following a Saudi Arabian takeover and the club have added huge names to their squad so far.

Key signings have been key for Eddie Howe’s side, as the Toon have added Italian superstar, Sandro Tonali and Leicester winger, Harvey Barnes, to their squad this summer.

Summer additions are reportedly set to continue in the coming weeks, as Newcastle are reportedly interested in adding the French defender before the season starts.

The French defender showed impressive form throughout the 2022-23 season in Ligue 1, making 34 appearances in the competition.

At just 23, Todibo is one of the brightest young prospects for central defence and has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Newcastle had reportedly sent scouts to observe the young defender during the previous campaign and will face competition from Manchester United and Liverpool, who have also been monitoring Todibo’s situation.

The central defender has a price tag understood to be in the region of £39million, and could get a top club move this summer.

His contract in France is set to expire in four-years, meaning the estimated fee could rise to as much as £50m – a price tag that could put off potential suitors.

The Magpies signed Sven Botman from Ligue 1 last season and the Dutchman’s form may give the club confidence in the pursuit of Todibo.
