Mo Salah Names Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo And Premier League Rival As His Three ‘Dream’ Team-Mates

Mo Salah has named Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and a Premier League rival as his three ‘dream’ team-mates. The Liverpool star avoided the Messi vs Ronaldo debate by naming them both in his ideal dream trio of players he’d never played with, but it was Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne who also made the cut.

The Egyptian king has been instrumental in the Reds recent success, netting 198 goals and helping the side to win the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup since joining the club in 2017.

Mo Salah’s Quotes

“Messi or Ronaldo, but if I pick one in the Premier League then I’d choose Kevin. He has vision, I’m sure he can find me anywhere with the ball so I would say Messi, Ronaldo and then Kevin. He’s a great player, the whole [City] team is great. But I just try to play my game and not focus on anyone else,” Salah explained.

He was also asked who is the toughest left-back he has faced on the pitch: “I played with Ashley [Cole]. Oh my God. The way he reads the game is unbelievable. I played against him when I was at Basel. He reads the game. He was very smart. He was not the tallest, but he reads the game, he’s really tough,” he added.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo & Kevin De Bruyne

Naturally, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would make everybody’s dream team or in this case, a dream trio of team-mates and Mo Salah’s inclusion of Kevin De Bruyne is hardly a surprise. The duo never actually played together at Chelsea as the Belgian midfielder left in January 2014, with Salah joining the Blues later that same month.

De Bruyne has been a huge success since joining Manchester City and is arguably the greatest ever midfielder to ply his trade in the Premier League. Laced with an exceptional set of attributes that make him one of the finest modern day footballers, KDB really is a world class star alongside Messi and Ronaldo. However, the Belgian is still a way off when being compared to the greatest players of all-time, unlike the Argentine and Portuguese duo.

Mo Salah In 2023/24

It’s hard to disagree with Salah’s choices and it’s more than likely that Messi, Ronaldo and De Bruyne would have loved him as their team-mate as well at some stage in their careers, if not in the future. Salah has once again been instrumental for Liverpool so far this season, contributing 12 goals and five assists in 18 appearances across all competitions. Just one more Premier League will make it 150 in England’s elite division in just 244 outings.

To date, Salah has won three Premier League Golden Boot awards with the first of these coming in his record-breaking debut season in 2017/18, whereby he netted 32 times. If you fancy Salah to pick up his fourth win at the end of this campaign, the best UK betting sites have him priced at 7/1.
