Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made one change to the side that beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 on the opening weekend as the Gunners travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.

Tomiyasu replaces Timber as Arteta makes one change to Arsenal side that beat Forest

Monday Night Football awaits the Gunners in south London as Takehiro Tomiyasu comes into the starting XI at left-back in place of Jurrien Timber, who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury on his Premier League debut.

Spanish goalkeeper David Raya is on the Arsenal bench for the first time following his initial loan deal from Brentford which includes a £27m option to buy next summer, which is likely to keep Aaron Ramsdale on his toes throughout the season.

Thomas Partey will start at right-back once again alongside Ben White and William Saliba in the heart of defence, leaving Gabriel on the bench for a second consecutive game.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has named an unchanged side from the XI that beat Sheffield United 1-0, with Jean-Philippe Mateta a notable omission from the matchday squad.

Michael Olise is not yet fit to start and remains on the sidelines with Palace fans eager to see him in action once again after rejecting Chelsea to sign a new four-year contract with the Eagles.
