Mikel Arteta is considering dropping Aaron Ramsdale following the international break, with David Raya in line to make his Arsenal debut if the reports are true.

Decisions To Make For Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta is reportedly thinking about giving new signing David Raya a chance in goal after the international break, with question marks arising over Aaron Ramsdale’s recent performances.

Arsenal have picked up this year from where they left off last season, with the Gunners winning three out of four of their opening Premier League matches this year.

The one game tarnishing Arsenal’s 100% record was against Fulham two weeks ago, with Aaron Ramsdale making a questionable error early on during the 2-2 draw.

Ramsdale was caught well off his line after just 56 seconds, with Andreas Pereira curling in an effort from range to stun the Emirates with the first goal of the match.

The freak mistake from Ramsdale after just under a minute was a costly one, as the Gunners were unable to beat Fulham following the error which ultimately cost them two points.

Aside from the Fulham mistake Ramsdale has been as reliable as ever for Arsenal, but perhaps Mikel Arteta is considering a change in net to keep the Englishman on his toes this season.

The Gunners signed David Raya on loan from Brentford this summer in a season-long deal worth £3m, with an option to buy clause at the end of the year for £27m.

If reports are true, Raya may be handed a spot in the starting 11 shortly after the international break, with the Gunners set to face Everton away from home.
