Rashford Injury Update

In light of Manchester United’s miserable start to the season, Marcus Rashford is in line to lose his spot in Erik ten Hag’s starting XI due to loss of form and struggles in front of goal.

Manchester United’s Start To The Season

Six defeats in ten games and losses at the hands of Tottenham, Arsenal, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Bayern Munich and Galatasaray have left Manchester United sitting 10th in the Premier League. Their poor start to the season has been their worst opening to a Premier League campaign since the competition’s inception.

Injury struggles, disciplinary issues, and a lack of goals have all contributed to the gloomy feeling around Old Trafford, but it looks as if Marcus Rashford will be the one to lose his place in the starting XI.

Why Marcus Rashford Could Lose His Spot In Manchester United’s XI

Coming off the back of his best individual season in a Manchester United shirt, in which he scored 30 goals across all competitions and won the Sir May Busby Player of the Year award, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Rashford would deliver similar standards this season.

However, in tandem with Manchester United’s poor form, the academy graduate has had a wretched start to the season, in which he has scored just one goal, a consolation in the Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

According to the Mirror, Rashford, who is on a reported £375,000 a week contract, could lose his place in Manchester United’s starting XI if his form does not improve.

With Sancho refusing to apologise following his public spat with ten Hag and Antony only just returning to the side following his police investigation, the Dutchman would need to call on the inexperienced duo of Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri.
