After losing both of their opening fixtures in August, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have gone on to win the most Premier League points since matchday three.

On matchday one, United fell to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford and lost in embarrassing fashion to Brentford a week later before the club acted quickly in the transfer market to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid.

Since the Brazilian’s arrival in Manchester, the Red Devils have won 46 points in the league across 21 games – more than both Manchester City and Arsenal.

Erik ten Hag leading Old Trafford revolution, five points adrift league leaders Man City

Ten Hag has the best win percentage of any Manchester United manager in the club’s competitive history, winning 72% of games to date (26 wins from 36).

Marcus Rashford is enjoying a phenomenal season with the Red Devils after a disappointing 2021/22 campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and later Ralf Rangnick, who told press Rashford was free to leave the club if game time was an issue.

The 25-year-old has scored 21 goals in all competitions this season, just one short of his highest scoring season at Old Trafford (22 in 2019/20).

In the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, Rashford (12 goals) trails Brentford’s Ivan Toney (14), Tottenham’s Harry Kane (17) and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (26).

Rashford is averaging a goal every 121 minutes under ten Hag, his best minutes-per-goal ratio under any Manchester United manager (previously Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer, Michael Carrick and Rangnick).

Opta are giving the Reds a 1.8% chance to win the Premier League this year despite being just five points adrift Manchester City at the top of the table, above Arsenal on goal difference.

According to Premier League betting sites, United are 20/1 to win a 21st league title but have already played both home and away fixtures against City and Arsenal.
