Manchester United vs Chelsea Combined XI Based On FPL Points

In order to form the Manchester United vs Chelsea combined XI ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash, we at SportsLens have identified the 4-5-1 formation as the most suitable to display the players who have scored the most FPL points thus far in 2023/24.

Goalkeeper

Andre Onana – Manchester United (55 points)

Starting in between the sticks for our side is Red Devils goalkeeper Andre Onana, who manager Erik ten Hag claims is the second best goalkeeper in the Premier League based on stats.

The Cameroon international gets the nod ahead of his counterpart from Stamford Bridge Robert Sanchez, as the Spaniard has earned 10 points fewer than United’s number one.

Defenders

Diogo Dalot – Manchester United (52 points)

The first of four defenders in our line-up is another Manchester United player, and this time it’s Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot – who has earned 52 points (more than any other United or Chelsea defender).

Dalot has mainly covered the right-back position during Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s absence due to injury, but featured on the left side of the defence in the Red Devils’ most recent match against Newcastle.

Victor Lindelof – Manchester United (41 points)

He may have lost his place in United’s starting XI last time out, but thanks to scoring a strong 41 points thus far in 2023/24 – Victor Lindelof makes his way into our starting line-up.

The Swedish defender has started nine games in central defence this term, scoring once and assisting once, but was named on the bench against Newcastle with Luke Shaw moving into the left-centre-back position that Lindelof held for the previous three matches.

Thiago Silva – Chelsea (39 points)

The first Chelsea player named in our combined XI is legendary Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, who has scored 39 fantasy points so far this season.

At 39-years-old, the Blues defender is showing no signs of stopping having started all 14 of their matches in the English top flight this term, scoring one and registering three clean sheets in the process.

Axel Disasi – Chelsea (39 points)

Our final defender is another one of Mauricio Pochettino’s centre-backs in Axel Disasi, who has also scored 39 points for the Blues since arriving from Ligue 1 side Monaco in the summer.

Disasi has missed just two Premier League matches for his side this term, starting in 12, and like Silva – he has a goal and three clean sheets to his name.

Midfielders

Raheem Sterling – Chelsea (68 points)

Leading the way with the most points in our entire squad is Chelsea midfielder Raheem Sterling, who has bagged a whopping 68 points – the ninth most of any midfielder on the game so far this season.

Despite being continually omitted from the England squad by Gareth Southgate, Sterling has been one of the Blues’ standout performers in the division, with five goals and one assist in 13 starts.

Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United (63 points)

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes is the second midfielder named in our combined XI, and he boasts the second highest amount of FPL points within our squad with 63.

Fernandes has led the Red Devils out in all 14 of their English top flight matches this season and is their joint top-scorer along with Scott McTominay, registering just three goals and three assists – a far cry from his numbers back in 2020/21.

Cole Palmer – Chelsea (50 points)

Blues summer signing Cole Palmer has impressed massively since joining from Manchester City, with his stats including four goals and two assists in just seven Premier League starts this term.

With 50 points to his name within the game, Palmer has the fifth highest points tally within our line-up – behind Sterling, Fernandes, Onana and Dalot.

Marcus Rashford – Manchester United (45 points)

Red Devils forward Marcus Rashford has had a bitterly disappointing start to the campaign, with the majority of his performances underwhelming the masses at Old Trafford.

The England international has just two league goals to his name – underperforming an xG of 4.69, but still manages to force his way into our combined XI with 45 points.

Conor Gallagher – Chelsea (45 points)

Also on 45 points is our final midfielder – Chelsea academy graduate Conor Gallagher, who has started all 14 league matches for the Blues this term, returning four assists but no goals.

Unfortunately for the 23-year-old however, he isn’t eligible to face the Red Devils at Old Trafford after being shown a red card in the win over Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

Forwards

Nicolas Jackson – Chelsea (49 points)

Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson is the final player named in our combined XI, and like Rashford – his stats indicate that he has underperformed his expected goals so far this term by scoring just six from an xG of 8.08.

The ex-Villarreal striker is Chelsea’s top scorer in the Premier League with six goals, one ahead of Sterling, which has contributed massively to his 49 points and to him being named in our line-up.
