Manchester United have opened talks with Inter Milan over a possible move for defender Federico Dimarco who impressed in this year’s Champions League. Real Madrid have also been in negotiations with the Italian side over a move for their talented full-back.

Inter lost to Manchester City in the final of the competition earlier this month, but certain individuals still managed to impress for the Serie A outfit, including Dimarco.

The Italian defender has caught the eye some top European clubs after his standout performances in this year’s Champions League and both United and Real Madrid are known to be keen on signing him.

This deal could come at a perfect time for Inter, who are in need of raising funds this summer having operated under a financial cloud over the last 12 months. They will need to make money through player sales over the next few weeks in the lead up to the new season.

Dimarco thrived at left wing-back last term, showing his ability at both ends of the field by scoring six goals in 50 appearances.

Despite United having Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as options at left-back, Shaw operated at centre-back during stages of the season.

Madrid are also showing interested in Dimarco but United have greater financial pull than the La Liga side, who have already spent big on Jude Bellingham so far this summer.
