Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim has reportedly made a fifth bid directly to the Glazer family to buy Manchester United, but this will be his ‘final offer’.

The ‘fifth and final’ bid has been submit in an attempt to beat rival bidder Jim Ratcliffe to the club and Sheikh Jassim has set a deadline of Friday for the Glazers to reply.

Sheikh is reportedly willing to let the bid stand beyond Friday, but he will no longer negotiate a price with the Glazers after that point.

British petrochemicals billionaire Jim Ratcliffe was supposedly in front of the Qatari bid before today, however the Glazers are yet to respond to Sheikh Jassim’s fifth bid.

Sheikh Jassim wants to buy United 100% outright from the Glazers, who value the club at around £6bn. While the offer is improved on his last, the new bid from Jassim is still not at the £6bn valuation.

The Glazers may choose to side with Ratcliffe, who could potentially keep the current owners around the club in some capacity as it is a majority takeover and not a 100% buyout.

The sale of United has been an extremely long and painful process for the fans, who have openly protested against the Glazer family for some time now.

However Sheikh Jassim has looked to end the drawn out process that begun when the Glazers decided to sell the club in November, as his take it or leave it offer could finally end the sale once and for all.
