Manchester United legend Andy Cole has slammed Bruno Fernandes’ on-field antics against Newcastle United, becoming the second ex-Red to slander his behaviour in the last few weeks.

Just a few weeks ago after Liverpool destroyed United 7-0, Gary Neville was furious with Fernandes’ on-field tantrums. The 28-year-old was seen begging manager Erik ten Hag to come off, and was also lashing out at opposition players.

It wasn’t as bad this week, but Fernandes was consistently moaning at the referee again.

In the first-half Fernandes appealed for a penalty after complaining about being clippedd inside the box by Fabian Schar. His appeal was waved away, and of course the Portuguese midfielder wasn’t happy.

Fernandes was adamant he should have had a penalty, and the fired-up Newcastle crowd made sure to make their feelings clear as they chanted and booed him.

It’s happening on a regular basis, and United legends are speaking out about his behaviour.

Andy Cole Bruno Fernandes Comments

Andy Cole was speaking to Premier League Productions.

“Nowhere near a penalty,

“I think as players we know if it’s a penalty or not because his teammates would be supporting him 100%

“It’s not a penalty, but it’s Bruno (Fernandes) having another moan up.”

If Fernandes was riled up in the first-half, the second-half would have been even worse. St James’ Park was booming as the Magpies went on to win 2-0 to move into third place. Second-half goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson topped made sure it was an excellent afternoon for those fans – who didn’t stop singing for 90 minutes.
