Manchester United Favourites To Sign Kylian Mbappe Despite Ongoing Takeover Talks

According to UK betting sites Manchester United are favourites to sign Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe, despite the Red Devils’ recent takeover talks.

The Frenchman has established himself as one Europe’s best players since bursting onto the scene at Monaco in 2017. Becoming PSG’s record goal scorer aged 24, with 202 goals in 252 matches, Mbappe has seen his profile rise tremendously.

However, this season has been slightly different for the France international, as PSG have struggled more than ever. The club’s continued goal of winning the Champions League came to an end after they were swept aside by Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

This exit, alongside a run of poor results in Ligue 1 has seen supporters turn on their own players, as rumours of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe leaving the club have started to circulate.

However, PSG’s record scorer has been vocal about his current situation in France and insists he is committed to winning the UCL with the club.

Mbappe said: “The next step? Winning the Champions League,”

“I have already made a final, semi-final, quarter-final, round of 16. I have done everything but win. That’s all I need. Where? In Paris. I’m a Parisian and under contract. So it’s PSG.”

Despite this committed statements, the UK betting sites have priced Manchester United as favourites to sign the PSG star, despite the club’s ongoing takeover negotiations.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on bringing a striker to Old Trafford, with Wout Weghorst looking unlikely to sign on a permanent deal.

The 20 time Premier League champions have been linked with a variety of strikers, including two of the most prolific strikers in Europe, Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.

If the club make a move for any of these striking options, it could cost them over £100m. This may cause complications due to United’s uncertainty surrounding a new ownership.
