Transfer expert Bryan King has revealed that Manchester United could have signed goalkeeper Andre Onana for £6m in the summer, but ended up paying nearly eight times that.

Andre Onana joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in the summer for £47.2m following a standout campaign for Nerazzurri as they reached the Champions League final.
However, following his move, Andre Onana has had a tough start to life in Manchester. Having made a series of costly errors in the Champions League, which eventually saw the Red Devils eliminated from the competition, the Cameroonian’s ability has been brought into question.
Despite improved performances in the Premier League, football fans are far from convinced that the Cameroonian shot-stopper is worth his hefty pricetag.

Manchester United Could Have Signed Onana For £6m
Now a transfer “expert” has added fuel to the fire by claiming that Inter Milan were looking to sell the former Ajax goalkeeper for just £6m, before Manchester United swooped in to sign him.
Speaking to Football Insider, Bryan King, who is described as a “well-connected recruitment expert”, said: “Ten Hag hasn’t given me any confidence that Man United are a side that can win the Premier League.
“That must come from the people he’s brought in.”
“A friend of mine knows the sporting director at Inter Milan and they were prepared to let Onana go for about £6million.
“Then, all of a sudden, an email comes in offering over £50million for him. Of course, they’re not going to ask them to readjust their bid.”
Incredibly, this isn’t the first time Manchester United have overpaid for a player.
According to The Athletic, when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was manager of the club, scouts valued Antony at £25m.
Fast forward to the end of Erik ten Hag’s first transfer window in charge of the Red Devils, and they sign the Brazilian for a whopping £85m.
