Erik Ten Hag suggested that Manchester United’s transfer business is far from over with just a few days remaining until the summer deadline, and fresh reports suggest they are in talks with Bayern Munich over a sensational swap deal involving Scott McTominay.

A summer of change at Old Trafford may not be over just yet, with the club working hard to find a potential fill-in for Luke Shaw who is ruled out for the foreseeable future with a muscle injury.

Manager Erik Ten Hag admitted that should suitable market opportunities arise before the 1st September, United are in a good position to pounce.

There has also been a strong suggestion that several squad members could depart, joining a slew of names who have headed for the exit over the course of the window.

One name who has been constantly linked with a career change is Scott McTominay, who has seen limited game time since the arrival of Casemiro.

The 26-year-old featured for the full 90 minutes in the Premier League on just six occasions last season, prompting United to welcome bids for the Scotland international.

Although very little has materialised in the way of negotiations, reports coming out of Germany over the weekend suggest he could be at the centre of an unexpected swap deal.

That is according to Bild, who claim initial talks have begun between Bayern Munich and United, over the possibility of an exchange involving Scott McTominay and Ryan Gravenberch.

The latter has made no secret of his frustration since making the switch to Bavaria, with game time few and far between.

The Dutchman has long been a target for the Red Devils, along with Liverpool who attempted to sign to 21-year-old two seasons ago.

Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel is thought to be a huge admirer of McTominay, and believes he could bring aggression and stability to the club’s ageing midfield.
