Manchester City’s odds to win the Premier League have shortened following today’s 5-1 victory at home to Fulham which puts the Sky Blues at the top of the table.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring for the Citizens after half an hour before an instant response from the visiting side through Tim Ream two minutes later levelled the scores.

Nathan Ake controversially nodded home from Phil Foden’s corner to put the hosts back in front deep into first half stoppage time, despite Manuel Akanji going unpenalised for interfering with play in an offside position.

The goal stood after a VAR check but it didn’t make any bearing on the final score in the end, as Erling Haaland netted his fourth goal of the season on the hour mark and added another from the penalty spot ten minutes later.

The 23-year-old put the cherry on top of a magical week where he won the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award by completing his first hat-trick of the season in the 95th minute.

Jeremy Doku was handed a first start for the club by Pep Guardiola, enjoying a fine display at the Etihad and looks to be solid competition on the wing for Jack Grealish or Phil Foden.

According to Premier League betting sites, City’s odds to win the title are now 2/5. They could become the first team in history to lift the crown four years in a row and are showing no signs of slowing down.

Haaland continues to break every record in the book and looks to have formed an unstoppable partnership with World Cup winner Julian Alvarez, who also won the penalty to put it on a plate for the Norwegian.

The champions will face West Ham next in the league at the London Stadium, who are also undefeated after four games and sit just two points behind the leaders before getting their defending Champions League campaign underway shortly after.
