Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly set to sign 16-year-old defensive talent Harrison Parker from city-rivals Manchester United.

Manchester United are on the verge of losing talented academy youngster Harrison Parker. To make matters worse – they look to be losing him to their arch-rivals, Manchester City.

Fabrizio Romano exclusively revealed on Tuesday that the Premier League champions were close to reaching an agreement for Parker, beating four top clubs to his signature.

“Manchester City are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United for top talented centre-back Harrison Parker.” Romano tweeted.

“City have beaten four top clubs to the signing — agreement is close despite United offering highest youth deal to keep Parker.”

Romano has since revealed that the 16-year-old talent is expected to make the Etihad switch on a long-term deal.

“Harrison Parker, expected to sign long term deal at Manchester City — joining from Manchester United.”

Parker only arrived at Old Trafford in 2021, joining from Arsenal‘s academy.

Despite being eyed as a potential top future centre-back, he managed just three appearances for the Red Devils’ Under-18s last term, but this was due to a long-term injury.

United will likely gain a significant fee from City for Parker’s services if an agreement is reached between the clubs or via a tribunal.

This transfer comes amid Manchester United reportedly being interested in signing City’s Fletcher twins, Jack and Tyler – the sons of ex-Red Devils midfielder Darren Fletcher.

Players switching between both Manchester clubs has become more frequent in recent years, with many attributing it to Brexit restrictions.

Charlie McNeill and Reece Devine both switched City for United in recent years. However, Pep Guardiola’s side seem to have got one back on their rivals this time around.
