Manchester City enter the Champions League for the first time as champions of Europe, after their 1-0 win over Inter Milan in last season’s final back in June. With the draw due to take place later this week, check out the Manchester City Champions League pot and what it could mean in terms of potential opponents in the group stage. 

Manchester City Champions League Pot

With City already qualifiers due to winning the Premier League and the Champions League last season, Pep Guardiola’s side will be in Pot One. They will be joined by Europa League winners Sevilla, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Napoli, PSG, Benfica and Feyenoord.

Pot One features title holders City alongside Europa League winners Sevilla, as well as the champions of the top six national leagues based on UEFA country coefficients, including a surprise inclusion for Eredivisie champions Feyenoord.

Who Could Manchester City Face In Champions League?

Clubs from the same county can not be drawn together in group stages, and can’t face one another until the quarter-finals. That means Newcastle United, Manchester United and Arsenal can be ruled out.
