Manchester City Cement Themselves At The Top Of The Premier League After Leeds Victory

Manchester City went four points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League on Sunday, after edging past Leeds in a 2-1 win at Elland Road.

The home side dominated throughout on Sunday and it was Ilkay Gundogan who opened the scoring for Manchester City with a clinical strike after just 20 minutes.

Gundogan grabbed his and City’s second of the game just eight minutes later, as Riyad Mahrez picked up his second assist of the game with a pass to the City captain on the edge of the area.

The German midfielder certainly had his shooting boots on against Leeds, as he swept the ball into the bottom left corner this time to double City’s advantage going into the break.

Gundogan had the chance of getting his hat-trick late on in the second half when City got a penalty, however he was denied by the woodwork which kept the score at 2-0.

Leeds were able to make for an exciting finish on Sunday, as City failed to clear and Rodrigo pounced to score and reduce the home side’s advantage to just one goal.

City were able to hold on at the death however and the league leaders are now priced at just 1/20 to win the Premier League for a third season in a row.
