Manchester United have seen their Premier League title odds drop this weekend, after comfortably beating Leicester City – as Manchester City dropped points to Nottingham Forest.
- Leicester City started well and looked to be the better side.
- Despite a good start for the visitors, Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with his 23rd of the season.
- Brendan Rodgers’ side couldn’t convert their chances in the first-half.
- Manchester United came out firing in the second-half.
- Rashford added a second after 56 minutes for his sixth goal in his last five.
- Second-half substitute Jadon Sancho turned the third into an empty net.
Marcus Rashford found himself one-on-one with Danny Ward in the 25th minute, and could’ve squared to Alejandro Garnacho, but with the form that he’s in at the minute – it will come as no surprise that the forward buried it for United’s opener. It was his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions, making 2022/23 his highest ever goalscoring season.

Leicester’s strong start saw no rewards for Brendan Rodgers, as David de Gea denied Harvey Barnes and Kelechi Iheanacho with a super stops. The Foxes couldn’t make the most of their opportunities, and went in at the break a goal down – perhaps undeservedly.
United came out flying for the second 45, looking like the better side by some distance.
Fred slipped Rashford in behind the visiting defence once again, and the Englishman made no mistakes in slotting past Ward for the second. After a lengthy VAR check, Rashford’s goal was confirmed, as his extraordinary form continued.

Bruno Fernandes was instrumental in United’s third, as second-half substitute Jadon Sancho flicked his pass into an empty net to extend the Red Devils’ lead. It was Fernandes’ second assist of the match, having assisted Rashford’s opener as well. Three points, three goals, a clean sheet – job done for Erik ten Hag’s side at Old Trafford.

A huge three-points for ten Hag’s side in context of the title-race, as they look to gain on Manchester City, and keep up with league-leaders Arsenal.
