Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United host West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday, fresh off the back of Carabao Cup triumph at Wembley on Sunday. Here, find a preview for the game alongside odds, live stream, team news and lineups.

Manchester United vs West Ham Preview

Manchester United ended a near six-year trophy drought by beating Newcastle 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final, marking the first major triumph since Jose Mourinho’s Europa League win in 2017.

Casemiro and Marcus Rashford‘s first half strikes were enough to see off a disappointing Newcastle side who managed just two shots on target in 90 minutes, crediting the Red Devils’ airtight backline.

Ten Hag’s side are now ten games unbeaten and the 12-time FA Cup winners will move a step closer to a record-equalling 13 FA Cup trophies with victory at Old Trafford.

West Ham snapped a run of three games without victory on Saturday afternoon, demolishing Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the London Stadium thanks to a brace from Danny Ings and strikes by Declan Rice and Michail Antonio.

The last time these two sides met in a domestic cup competition, the Hammers left Old Trafford with a 1-0 win in the EFL Cup third round last season as Manuel Lanzini’s early opener proved decisive.

In the two recent Premier League meetings however, Manchester United have won both 1-0 – through Rashford’s 93rd minute winner in January 2022 and once again through the 25-year-old last October.

Despite netting the second goal in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, Marcus Rashford was not fully fit and there is a possibility that Erik ten Hag decides to name a rotated XI to face West Ham ahead of a trip to Anfield this weekend.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are out for the rest of the season and Anthony Martial is an expected absence for the FA Cup clash.

David Moyes has confirmed that both Vladimir Coufal and Lukasz Fabianski are doubts for the visitors after picking up injuries against Forest, whilst Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma are also expected to miss the trip up north.
