Manchester City have progressed to the FA Cup final after beating Sheffield United 3-0 at Wembley highlighted by a superb Riyad Mahrez hat-trick.
Mahrez got his first from the spot on the stroke of half time and added two in quick succession after the hour mark, booking yet another cup final appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Algerian recorded a maiden FA Cup semi-final hat-trick at Wembley, taking his tally to four goals in the competition this season.
City are pushing to match the famous treble won by Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United in 1999 with the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup titles.
The Sky Blues are aiming for a seventh FA Cup crown in history and have won the trophy twice in the Premier League era. Success with Roberto Mancini over Stoke in 2011 was the club’s first major title following the takeover.
City also beat Watford 6-0 in the final four years ago – marking the third time a team had scored six goals in an FA Cup final and the joint-largest margin of victory.

According to FA Cup betting sites, Man City have an implied probability of 69% to win the competition ahead of the second semi-final tomorrow between Brighton and Manchester United.
Additionally, City have not conceded a goal in the FA Cup so far but scored a mighty 17:
- 4-0 vs Chelsea (8th January)
- 1-0 vs Arsenal (27th January)
- 3-0 vs Bristol City (28th February)
- 6-0 vs Burnley (18th March)
- 3-0 vs Sheffield United (22nd April)
All eyes will be on Wembley tomorrow to find out the Citizens’ opponents, but supporters know that regardless of the outcome they will head into the clash as favourites.
As well as pursuing the Premier League and Champions League titles for a famous treble, City are favourites in all competitions and are now priced less than 2/1 to complete it.
