Ahead of the game, City were two points behind league-leaders Arsenal knowing that a win would send them top.

It took Haaland just three minutes to find the back of the net to score his 50th goal of the season as Pep Guardiola’s side got off to the perfect start. He converted a penalty won by Julian Alvarez after he was bundled over by Tim Ream.

However, Fulham responded very well and pulled a goal back in the 15th minute. Vinicius lashed the ball home after Harry Wilson nodded down a long ball down from Ream.

The Cottagers certainly provided City with a challenge throughout the game showing just how well Marco Silva has the side playing this season.

Knowing exactly what they needed, Alvarez fired the Cityzens back in front with a delightful strike. He received a pass from Riyad Mahrez and showed great composure to strike from distance finding the back of the net.
