Liverpool vs Arsenal Combined XI Based On FPL Points

In order to form the Liverpool vs Arsenal combined XI ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash, we at SportsLens have identified the 5-4-1 formation as the most suitable to display the players who have scored the most FPL points thus far in 2023/24.

Goalkeeper

Alisson Becker – Liverpool (68 points)

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson gets the call in net, with this season’s tally of 68 points comfortably beating Arsenal’s new number one David Raya by over 20 points.

Raya would probably be ahead of his Brazilian counterpart if he had consistently started every game in goal for the Gunners this season, but the Spaniard only got the call up for Aaron Ramsdale in week five.

These sides have both conceded the joint least amount goals this season so far, with just 15 put past the goakeeper’s after 17 Premier League matches.

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool (84 points)

Liverpool’s versatile defender Trent Alexander-Arnold obviously makes the FPL combined XI, as not only the top points scoring Reds defender – but also the Premier League’s highest scoring defensive option.

With two goals and two assists to his name this season Trent will no doubt be disappointed with his total return of 84 points, but pushing into midfield recently has boosted his stats.

Virgil Van Dijk – Liverpool (61 points)

One of the main reason’s Liverpool are flying in the Premier League this season is their ability to keep clean sheets, with Virgil Van Dijk at the centre of everything the Reds do defensively.

Van Dijk has picked up 61 points so far this year with six clean sheets in the Premier League this season, a stat only beaten by Arsenal who have seven clean sheets to their name.

William Saliba – Arsenal (72 points)

William Saliba is without a doubt Arsenal’s most important defensive player, as without their young French superstar the Gunners blew a golden shot at the title towards the end of last season.

Saliba has yet again proved to be Arsenal’s most valuable defender this season, playing every single minute under Mikel Arteta (only player to do so) in what has been his best season to date.

Oleksandr Zinchenko – Arsenal (68 points)

While he has struggled with injuries at point this season, Oleksandr Zinchenko just creeps into the back line of our highest rated FPL team this season, with 68 points for the Ukraine international.

Zinchenko has been providing less goal contributions this season with just one goal and assist to his name, but Arsenal’s clean sheets have seen the fullback become one of FPL’s most valuable assets.

Ben White – Arsenal (66 points)

The final defender in our FPL back line is another Arsenal fullback, with Ben White picking up just two points less than Zinchenko through his 14 starts this year.

White also has a goal and assist this season, but his disciplinary record may prevent FPL users from selecting the £5.6m right back with three yellow cards earned.

Midfielders

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool (130 points)

The highest scoring FPL player from both Arsenal and Liverpool is undoubtedly Mohamed Salah, who leads this season’s FPL scoring for all teams with a consistent start to the season for the Reds.

Salah has 11 goals and seven assists to his name this season which saw the Egyptian’s points fly up to 130, as he chases last season’s incredible 265 point tally.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal (97 points)

Arsenal’s top points scorer is a fair way behind Salah on 130 points, but this is perhaps because the Gunners share their goals out so much amongst their midfielders and forwards.

Bukayo Saka has five goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season after an impressive start to the campaign and he leads Arsenal’s scoring by a comfortable 24 points.

Dominik Szoboszlai – Liverpool (68 points)

Liverpool’s new signing Dominik Szoboszlai has seriously impressed since arriving at Anfield in summer, proving to be worth every penny the Reds paid to Leipzig.

The Hungarian midfielder has five Premier League goal contributions this season and has proved to be an essential player in Jurgen Klopp’s engine room having started every game this year.

Martin Odegaard – Arsenal (71 points)

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is the final midfielder to make it into our combined Liverpool vs Arsenal XI, with 71 points for the Norwegian this year despite missing some game time through injury.

Four goals and three assists for Odegaard show that Arsenal’s goals really do come from everywhere, as their captain just edges new signing Declan Rice out of the starting XI by seven points.

Forwards

Darwin Nunez – Liverpool (63 points)

Darwin Nunez just creeps into the FPL combined XI this season, as the Uruguayan has picked up 63 points from 16 matches and just ten starts.

Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus have been alternating as starting striker for Arsenal this season while the latter recovered from a serious injury, but the pair have combined for 101 points so far this year.

Liverpool vs Arsenal Combined XI FPL Total Points: 848 points
