Liverpool’s hopes of finishing in the top four and securing a place in next season’s Champions League competition have taken a hit following Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Arsenal took a 2-0 lead at Anfield after 28 minutes thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s opener followed by Gabriel Jesus’ eighth goal of the season.

Mohamed Salah got one back for the hosts before half-time and missed a penalty ten minutes into the second half, but Roberto Firmino ensured Liverpool earned a point on Easter Sunday.

  • Manchester United @ 1/8
  • Newcastle @ 1/5
  • Spurs @ 3/1

  • Aston Villa @ 100/1

The point leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side in eighth, three points adrift Aston Villa in sixth who occupy the last remaining European spot. Liverpool have a game in hand to follow against Fulham at the start of May.

The Reds have a favourable run with Leeds, Nottingham Forest and West Ham up next in the league – three relegation threatened sides who are battling for survival in England’s top tier.

According to Premier League betting sites, Liverpool have an implied probability of 9% to finish in the top four which looks like a pipe dream for the six-time Champions League winners.
