Liverpool are reportedly keen on hijacking Manchester United’s summer transfer target, Sofyan Amrabat, as the Moroccan grows frustrated with United’s approach.

The Reds are said to be huge admirers of the Moroccan international, who has been linked with a move to fierce rivals, Manchester United.

United have been in direct contact with the Firorentina star, after selling Brazilian midfielder Fred and negotiating with Real Sociedad over the departure of Donny Van de Beek.

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign a midfielder already, after Jurgen Klopp’s side saw their bid for VFB Stuggart player, Wataru Endo, be accepted yesterday evening.

Despite this, the red half of Merseyside are still in the running for an additional midfield target, after losing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.

Klopp’s men started the Premier League campaign with a hard-fought draw against fierece rivals, Chelsea, with Luis Diaz earning the Reds a point.

Liverpool will need to act swiftly if they want to acquire the Moroccan’s signature, as United are still keen on adding Amrabat to the fray this season.

After an impressive display in the 2022 World Cup, the footballing world took notice of the Moroccan midfielder and the 26-year-old continued a successful season with Fiorentina.

Making 49 appearances in all competitions, the former Hellas Verona player established himself as one of the top midfielders in Italy – reaching the Europa Conference League final.

The Moroccan international had reportedly rejected a move to Liverpool and was believed to prefer a potential switch to Manchester – becoming their fourth summer signing.

With Fred leaving the club this summer and Scott McTominay attracting interest from a list of Premier League sides – midfield reinforcements may be key this summer.

The Morocco international has a year remaining on his current deal in Italy, meaning he should cost around £25m this summer.
