According to reports Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Newcastle star, Bruno Guimaraes, as Liverpool continue their search for a midfielder.

The Reds are finding some form in the latter stages of the season, beating Leeds and Nottingham Forest in their most recent Premier League fixtures. However, the 2022-23 campaign has been one to forget for the Liverpool faithful – as they sit 7th in the table.

Poor performances mixed with a catalogue of injuries has impacted Jurgen Klopp’s side, with the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Thiago missing large parts of the season.

The return of these players has boosted Liverpool’s chances of European football, with Jota scoring four goals in his last two games.

Having these difficulties has highlighted the issues within the team, especially the need for a midfielder due to the ages of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago and the club have been linked with a variety of options.

Jude Bellingham has been the name on every supporters’ lips, as the England international continues to impress in the Bundesliga. Rumours of a move to Anfield have been silenced by the Liverpool manager after Dortmund set a £100m price tag.

With a move for the teenager looking unlikely, Klopp’s side will have to turn their attention to alternative options. One player that has reportedly caught the eye, is Newcastle star, Bruno Guimaraes, who has been pivotal for the Magpies since joining in 2022.

The Brazil international has made 33 appearances since signing for Eddie Howe’s side, scoring three and assisting four goals.

Guimaraes has been pivotal in the Magpies’ recent success, which has seen them take Liverpool’s place amongst the Champions League places. His partnership with fellow Brazilian, Joelinton, has been a solid foundation for the club from Tyneside.

Signing the Brazilian will be easier said than done, as his contract does not run out until 2024 and is currently on track to play European football next year. However, with a move looking likely to cost under ‘£80m’ the Reds will be hopeful of agreeing a deal .
