Liverpool & Brighton have seen their Top Four odds drift after a thrilling 2-2 stalemate, with Lewis Dunk cancelling out a Mohamed Salah brace.

Match Report: Brighton vs Liverpool

Brighton started strongly, pressing the visitors well and forcing mistakes early on. The Seagulls were rewarded in the 20th minute as Simon Adingra capitalised on a poor touch and placed the ball past Alisson from distant.

Liverpool equalised late into the second half, as their talismanic striker, Mo Salah, slotted the ball into the bottom left corner – following some slick build up.

It went from bad to worse for Brighton, as a mix up at the back allowed Dominic Szoboszlai won the ball and was pulled down by Pascal Gross.

Salah converted from the spot and put Jurgen Klopp’s men ahead just before the half time whistle – meaning the Reds went into the break with a slender lead.

Brighton managed to work their way back into the game, as Kaoru Mitoma, continued to be a threat down Brighton’s left flank.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side found a leveller in the 87th minute, with Lewis Dunk getting on the end of a wicked Solly March free-kick.

Liverpool failed to find a winner, despite Ryan Gravenberch missing from five-yards out. Brighton came close through Joao Pedro, but the match ended as a draw.

Will Liverpool & Brighton Finish In The Top Four?

Brighton had began the 2023-24 campaign superbly, picking up wins against Man United, Newcastle and Luton putting them amongst European qualification.

Similarly, Liverpool had remain undefeated prior to last week’s 2-1 defeat at Spurs, which moved them up to 3rd to in the Premier League.

The defeat to Spurs was full of controversy, both Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones were dismissed and Luis Diaz saw his effort be wrongfully adjudged offside by VAR.

Jurgen Klopp has called for the match to be replayed, however, it is not looking likely. Liverpool face Everton in their next league fixture as they continue their hunt for a top four finish.

Whilst Brighton travel to the Etihad, in hopes of pulling off yet another victory in Manchester and continue their strong start.
