Waturo Endo’s arrival may not be the last midfield addition at Anfield before the end of the window, with the latest Liverpool transfer news revealing a strong interest in Fluminense’s Andre.
Liverpool Transfer News
Liverpool’s transfer window has largely been a tale of rejection, particularly in the latter stages of the summer after Chelsea de-railed their pursuits of both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
Although they raced out the blocks to snap up Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, their well-documented search for a defensive-minded player has proven an arduous task.
Waturo Endo has the necessary experience to step in immediately and could well be a shrewd signing, but the Reds remain keen to bring in one more, perhaps younger target to form a midfield for the future.
ESPN goes as far as saying they have had a £25.6m bid rejected for Fluminense’s Andre this week.
The Brazilian club quickly rebuffed the offer, stating they are reluctant to let the 22-year-old leave before the end of their domestic season, which concludes in December.
The Copa Libertadores hopefuls can not afford to lose one of their most important players, with the Brazilian having featured more than any other player this season.
Andre has garnered a wave of attention from European clubs, boasting a unique profile as a deceptively strong defensive midfielder with an exceptional passing range, intense style and enviable agility.
Fulham reportedly had a bid rejected earlier this year, believed to be around £20m.
The report does, however, go on to suggest Liverpool will not make an improved offer, with Fluminense resolute in hanging on to the player.
