Diogo Jota was stretchered off in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Brentford. Fans have now discovered the extent of the injury and it’s not good.

How long is Jota our for?

Jota suffered a knee injury against Brentford and is looking at two months on the sidelines. This means he’ll return to the squad with five Premier League games remaining.

The Portuguese player has been incredible in the absence of Mohamed Salah. He’s scored 14 goals so far this season – his personal best for Liverpool is 21.

Jota has struggled with injuries since moving to Anfield from Wolves in 2020. He’s missed 64 games through injury in just four seasons and he’s set to add a lot more to that list.

Liverpool’s injury crisis

This is tough to take for Liverpool as their injuries keep totting up at such a crucial part in their season. Curtis Jones and Darwin Nunez also came off in the Brentford game but we don’t know the seriousness of their injuries just yet.

The vital fixtures are coming thick and fast for Liverpool with the Europa League making a return. On Sunday, they play their Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. They also play Manchester City in three weeks.

Liverpool can’t afford to make any slip ups now if they want to go after the quadruple.
