Liverpool came from 1-0 down to beat LASK 3-1 in their opening Europa League game. Liverpool Europa League winner odds now 7/2 as they remain favourites.

The reds fans may have thought their time in the Europa League was over, but last seasons struggle saw them miss out on the Champions League.

In their opening Europa League game they travelled to LASK with the expectation of bringing back three points. Despite the expectations, they struggled early on and went a goal behind. Florian Flecker scored in the 14th minute to give the hosts a surprise lead.

It took Liverpool until the 56th minute to level the scoring. Darwin Núñez slotted home a penalty to bring the score to 1-1.

Seven minutes later, Luiz Diaz scored the games third and Liverpool’s second. His goal completed the turnaround and was what Liverpool’s second half display deserved.

Liverpool star Mo Salah scored their third goal late on to confirm the three points for the Premier League side.

An Easy Win For Liverpool?

Jürgen Klopp’s side are expected to win the Europa League this season. Given their squad depth and experience, they should find their route to the final straight forward.

One barrier Liverpool will face is the teams that drop from the Champions League. With some tough groups in the elite tournament, we might see some of Europe’s bigger teams drop into the Europa League.
