Leicester City are demanding over £50m for their star player James Maddison with Newcastle and Tottenham leading the race to sign the Foxes ace.

James Maddison: £50m Demanded For England International

The Leicester hierarchy see Maddison as their most valuable asset and are determined not to be underpaid for the England international despite their relegation and the midfielder only having one year left on his contract.

Newcastle and Spurs are both pushing to land Maddison’s signature, with one of those clubs the likely destination for the 26-year-old.

The Magpies of course have Champions League football to play next season, which Spurs do not. However it is understood that the midfielder’s preference is to live in London.

Despite a difficult season for the club, Maddison still managed 10 goals and nine assists in Premier League games alone and his reputation has not been tarnished.

The Foxes have always been known to hold their ground when it comes to selling players, and have always got exactly what they asked for. They’ve sold players such as Harry Maguire, Riyad Mahrez and Wesley Fofana in recent years for much higher prices than what they paid at first.

Meanwhile Harvey Barnes is another player that could leave the King Power Stadium this summer. He was subject to interest from both Spurs and Newcastle too, as well as West Ham and Aston Villa. Barnes is a wanted man having 13 Premier League goals last season in a poor Leicester side.
