Leicester City are bracing for life in England’s second tier for the first time since 2014 following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium.

Philip Billing scored the only goal of the game five minutes before half-time as the Cherries made it two wins from their last three and climbed to 15th in the Premier League table.

Gary O’Neil’s side are now three points adrift the relegation zone and pushed their opponents further away from safety following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers earlier this week.

Leicester have now lost three straight games and are nine games without a win in all competitions with their last victory coming against Spurs at the beginning of February.

Leicester City Relegation Odds

  • Southampton @ 2/9
  • Nottingham Forest @ 4/11
  • Leicester City @ 4/6
  • Everton @ 6/4
  • Bournemouth @ 2/1
  • Leeds United @ 7/1
  • Wolves @ 10/1
  • West Ham United @ 10/1
  • Crystal Palace @ 12/1

Earlier today, news broke of the club’s intentions to appoint former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch as manager and the American is as low as 1/16 to get the job according to Premier League betting sites.

Marsch, who was sacked in February, was in charge of Leeds for just a year and helped the club avoid relegation to the Championship last season.

Leicester face an extremely difficult task to stay in England’s top flight with a difficult run of fixtures ahead, including a trip to the Etihad Stadium to face reigning champions Manchester City next week.

That is followed by showdowns against Wolves, Leeds, Everton and Fulham before a final trio of games against Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham to close the season.

The bookies have handed the Foxes an odds-on price for relegation, which would be the first since dropping down to League One in the 2008/09 season.
