Union Berlin are set to sign Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the move permanent next summer.

Brenden Aaronson To Join Union Berlin On Loan

Aaronson joined the West Yorkshire side last summer but couldn’t help the side avoid relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

He now looks certain to join Union Berlin on a season-long loan and will now be playing in the same division as his brother Paxten Aaronson of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Aaronson will also be playing in the Champions League after Berlin finished fourth in the Bundesliga.

The 22-year-old was always expected to leave the club at the end of the season following their relegation.

The American played 36 of Leeds’ 38 Premier League games last season and scored just once combined with three assists as the side finished 19th.

Another Leeds player in Robin Koch looks to be set for a move to Germany and similarly it will also be a loan deal to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Brenden Aaronson is a versatile player to say the least. He can play as an attacking midfielder or on either wing. He regularly plays on the wing for his national team where he has scored seven goals in 29 appearances.

Due to link up with ‘Die Eisernen’, Aaronson will play alongside fellow USMNT player Jordan Pefok.
