Leeds United are EVS to be relegated come the end of this season after losing to Everton.
Without a manager after sacking Jesse Marsch, Leeds United need to find a new manager and points it’s too late.
They fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat against relegation rivals Everton away at Goodison Park.
Not only did Everton claim the points and climb out of the relegation zone. They’ve acted quickly to replace Frank Lampard with Sean Dyche.
The defeat for Leeds United as added further pressure to those at the top to appoint a new manager soon.
Can Leeds United Avoid The Drop?
Leeds United survived on the final day of last season after appointing Marsch during the season. If they want a repeat of this big survival, they’ll need to act fast.
On the pitch they need to get their team firing. They’re currently 19th in the league, two points of safety, but their fans aren’t hopeful. They haven’t won a league game since the 5th of November, a 4-3 win against Bournemouth.
One major issue they’re having is scoring goals in games. Key striker Patrick Bamford has struggled to recapture the form he had in Leeds United’s first season back in the Premier League.
This season Bamford has just one goal and two assists in 16 Premier League games. If they want to stand any chance of staying up, getting him scoring will be key.
Another key player will be their young Italian star, Wilfried Gnonto. Gnonto has been a stand-out player this season, impressing with his attacking threat and goals. Keeping this young man in form will be another key to staying up.
Who Else Might Get Relegated?
Leeds United aren’t the only team in danger this season. Along with Leeds United the likes of Everton, Bournemouth, Southampton and West Ham United are all in for a nervous end to the season.
Everton looked like they were in for a tough end to the season, but after replacing Lampard with Dyche many people think they’ll stay up. They’ve got a strong squad and a manager who knows how to get the best out of players even in tricky situations. At 13/8 they aren’t one of the three teams expected to go down, but they need results.
Bournemouth are the favourites for the drop as they struggle under Gary O’Neil. You’ll get 4/11 on them being relegated.
Fellow south coast team Southampton are also tipped to be relegated despite beating Chelsea recently. They’re 4/9 to go down.
