It has been exactly two weeks since Leeds United sacked head-coach Jesse Marsch, and are still without a new manager. In the latest odds for the next permanent manager, interim boss Michael Skubala has been named the bookies’ favourite.

Leeds confirmed the departure of American boss Jesse Marsch in early February – after a poor run of form, and off the back of a disappointing league defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Carlos Corberan emerged as an early favourite for the vacant role in Yorkshire, but committed his future to West Brom – signing a new long-term deal with the club.

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot was another that was tipped for the Premier League job. The Dutchman said Leeds’ interest was a ‘compliment’, but that there was no chance that he’d leave Feyenoord mid-season.

Andoni Iraola of Rayo Vallecano was believed to be another name that the Whites had on their shortlist, but once again, a move failed to materialise.

Since Marsch’s sacking Michael Skubala, alongside Chris Armas and Paco Gallardo, have led the team in training and in games whilst a permanent manager is found. However, in the latest odds for Leeds’ next permanent manager – Skubala looks to be the bookies’ favourite to take over the role permanently.

Leeds are yet to win a game under Skubala, having drawn one and lost the other two since he, Armas and Gallardo have been in charge.

The Whites find themselves one point off the bottom in 19th place after 23 games in the Premier League. Saturday saw a further blow to Leeds’ survival hopes, as they were defeated by fellow relegation-battlers Everton.
