Leeds United are considering a swoop for Patrick Vieira as they search for a new manager, with the position currently vacant after Sam Allardyce couldn’t steer them to Premier League safety.

Interviews for the job are scheduled to take place this week with a few names in the mix. Former Norwich boss Daniel Farke is one of those set to meet the Elland Road hierarchy as well as Scott Parker and current West Brom boss Carlos Corberan.

However it’s believed that Leeds are seriously interested in making Vieira their new boss months after he was sacked by Crystal Palace.

After three years in the top flight, the Whites are back in the Championship and are without a manager. Allardyce left the club just days after relegation. The 68-year-old was given four games to try and save Leeds, but lost three and drew the other.

He joined Leeds after Javi Garcia’s short stint at the club, making him the third manager of the season at Elland Road. Garcia took over from Jesse Marsch who was sacked in February, but did no better than the American.

Former Watford boss Garcia was brought in on a “flexible” deal and lasted just 11 league games winning just three times.

Well it now looks like Arsenal legend Vieira is in contention to take over in South Yorkshire in his first job back in management after the Palace sacking.
