French footballing superstar Kylian Mbappe could move into the top 10 richest athletes of all-time if he accepts Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal’s offer of a one-year deal worth $775m.
- Kylian Mbappe could become ninth-highest earning athlete of all-time with Al-Hilal contract
- Saudi Pro League side offering 24-year-old $775m for one-year deal
- Mbappe would leapfrog likes of Michael Schumacher, Neymar and Kobe Bryant in career earnings
Al-Hilal have submitted a $332m bid to sign the player who has just one year remaining on his contract with PSG and is currently refusing to sign a new deal, preparing to sit out the season if necessary and sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2024.
However, the Saudi club have offered PSG a lifeline – a world-record fee for the unsettled star, who would spend one season playing in the Saudi Pro League and then depart to a club of his choice on a free, likely to be Madrid.
If Mbappe accepts the offer, he could earn almost $800m for one year in Saudi Arabia and bolt up the list of the richest athletes of all-time, leapfrogging some of the greatest to ever do it – all at the age of just 24.
