Arsenal fullback Kieran Tierney could turn down offers from some of the top teams in the Premier League in favour of a return to his beloved Celtic this summer.

Tierney appears to have already played his last game for the Gunners, with the Scotsman struggling for a place in the starting lineup last season after Arsenal signed Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Mikel Arteta chose to use Zinchenko for the majority of Arsenal’s important matches last season, with Tierney used only as a backup to the forward thinking fullback.

Tierney played 36 matches for Arsenal last year, but failed to get anywhere near the amount of game time he would have liked in a frustrating campaign.

It therefore comes as no shock that Arsenal are planning on letting their Scotsman leave this summer, after four seasons at the Emirates.

Tierney has already garnered interest from across the Premier League, with Manchester City and Newcastle especially strongly linked with the fullback.

Newcastle are without a left back for next season at the minute, while City are still trying to fill the void that both Joao Cancelo and Zinchenko have left while leaving in the last two seasons.

But despite some of the top teams in England taking interest in Tierney, it has been reported that the 26-year-old could decide to move back to Scotland where his career saw liftoff for the first time.

Tierney came through the Celtic academy and became a legend at the club before leaving in 2019, winning the league five times as well as lifting the cup on three occasions in an impressive start to his career.

A return to Celtic for Tierney is likely, but the side would probably have to sign their former captain on loan for a season before they can save up for his fee, with Brendan Rodgers given just £30m to work with this summer.
