Graham Potter has been sacked by Chelsea after less than seven months in charge following a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday. Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann is the favourite to take over in the latest next Chelsea manager odds.

Potter’s sacking is one of two on Sunday, with Leicester City also parting ways with Brendan Rodgers.

It was the Englishman’s 11th defeat in his tenure at Stamford Bridge, with the club sitting 11th in the Premier League table. Despite having spent over £550 million on new players this season, Potter had Chelsea 12 points outside of the top four with 10 games left to play.

In a strange 12 months at Chelsea, Potter came in to replace Thomas Tuchel in September where the Blues were sat in sixth. After leaving Brighton, Potter hasn’t been able to make a positive impact at the club, meanwhile his former side are sitting pretty in sixth in the league, chasing European football.

Chelsea paid Brighton over £21 million in compensation to bring Potter to the club, and his dismissal makes it the Blues’ 17th managerial change of the century.

Potter has had managerial success at each of the three clubs he’d previously took charge, but things just didn’t work out for him at Stamford Bridge, and anybody who knows football knows that he wasn’t the problem at Chelsea.

So who’s in the running to take over? Nagelsmann leads the market at a 1/3 favourite, looks the most likely to be the next manager.
