Paddington Preferred to Mostahdaf as Favourite Among Juddmonte International Runners

Aidan O’Brien and Sir Michael Stoute share the record as the best trainers in the race’s history with six wins apiece. Only the form can add to his haul this year, however. While Ballydoyle unleashes clear ante post betting favourite Paddington, the Stoute stable sees both Bay Bridge and Desert Crown, who both boast previous course and distance successes, miss the race.

Empathic winner of a valuable Group 3 in Saudi Arabia on reappearance and the Prince Of Wales at Royal Ascot latest this year. That run showed he was better than ever, and had a clear preference for quick ground and this trip.

Yard has won two of the last five renewals and joint-most successful jockey in the race’s history booked with retained rider of connections banned. Best of the older Juddmonte International runners and has to be on any shortlist.

2. Nashwa

Beaten a length into third in the Nassau when attempting to defend her crown at Goodwood races during the Glorious meeting latest. Still showed she retains ability from her French Classic win in the Prix de Diane last season when dropped back in trip at the July Festival.

Filly enjoyed Group 1 Falmouth success there after being supplemented for the feature mile contest. One of the more versatile Juddmonte International runners, but this isn’t an easier stepping outside her own sex for the first time.

3. Paddington

Leading contender for champion three-year-old colt after making remarkable progress and four consecutive Group 1 wins. Followed-up on Madrid Handicap win at Naas with Listed success and then Classic glory at the Curragh.

Top-level exploits continued in the UK with Royal Ascot, Eclipse and Glorious Goodwood Group 1 treble. Handles any ground and step back up in trip holds no fears. Receives 7lb weight for age from all bar two rivals. The one other Juddmonte International runners have to beat.

4. The Foxes

Sole course and distance winner left in the line-up. Group 2 scorer as a juvenile who added the Dante to that after being runner-up in the Craven on reappearance.

Weakened into fifth in the Epsom Derby before unlucky length second in the Belmont Derby in New York latest. Further progress not ruled out but, in this field of Juddmonte International runners, needs a career-best even with weight for age in his favour.
