Three-time Premier League winner Jose Mourinho has reportedly turned down an approach by Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in favour of remaining with Serie A club Roma.

Former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has rejected an approach by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

This was revealed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed that the 60-year-old rejected the proposal earlier this month.

Mourinho has also been linked with a move to PSG, however Romano says the Portuguese boss is focused on the project at Roma.

Romano shared the news on his social platforms on Thursday morning.

“Understand Saudi side Al Hilal sent huge contract proposal to José Mourinho earlier this month, before approaching [Massimiliano] Allegri.” he tweeted.

“Official proposal sent: €30m per season net salary.

“José Mourinho turned down the bid — as he’s only focused on AS Roma project.”

Mourinho has been with Serie A side Roma since 2021, after being sacked by Tottenham following a poor run of form.

After winning the inaugural UEFA Conference League with the club in 2021/22, Mourinho led the Giallorossi to another European final in 2022/23, this time in the Europa League.

Unfortunately for Mourinho and his side though, it wasn’t to be, as they fell to defeat against Sevilla on penalties.

This brought Mourinho’s 100% win record in European finals to an end, having won four out of four prior to last season.

Many thought this marked the end of his tenure with Roma, but with Romano’s latest update – the three-time Premier League winner looks set to remain in the Italian capital.
