Jordan Henderson is flying to Al Ettifaq’s pre season camp in Croatia to complete a deal to the Saudi based club, with a contract being prepared for the Liverpool captain’s move.

The Liverpool skipper has been planning to leave Anfield since the beginning of the window and it seems Henderson is edging closer to a fond farewell this summer, with Al Ettifaq preparing a contract for their new star.

Al Ettifaq had a bid of £12m accepted for Henderson last week, that will see the 33-year-old depart the club he joined way back in 2011.

The three year deal will see Henderson earn around £350,000 a week in a popular headline move to Saudi Arabia that he simply could not refuse this year.

Henderson played 492 games for Liverpool during his 12 year career at the club, racking up 39 goals, 74 assists and most impressively 8 trophies during his time in red.

His best moment in a Liverpool shirt will undoubtably go down as the 2019 Champions League victory, with Henderson captaining his side to European glory after an eventful season.

The Liverpool veteran will reunite with another legend of of the club, as former captain and manager Steven Gerrard takes charge of Al Ettifaq next season in a new challenge.

Liverpool are already looking to replace Henderson this summer, as Romeo Lavia has emerged as a hot favourite to sign this summer in the 33-year-old’s place.

Having already recruited Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to their midfield this summer, securing Lavia could turn Liverpool’s team into the Premier League title challenging side Jurgen Klopp is after.
