Jonny Evans has re-signed for Manchester United on a short-term deal and will take part in the side’s upcoming pre-season games in Edinburgh and San Diego.

Jonny Evans Signs Short-Term Deal With Manchester United

Evans left Leicester City after his contract expired following their relegation to the Championship and now finds himself back at the club he left in 2015.

The experienced defender won a Champions League, three Premier League titles and two League Cups at Old Trafford having graduated from the academy in 2006.

Evans has been training with the Under-21s whilst weighing up his options ahead of the new season. He has also taken part in numerous first-team sessions and impressed Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff. The Northern Ireland international will now take part in the squad’s pre-season games.

The 35-year-old could stay beyond the current short-term deal agreed, especially with the uncertain future of Harry Maguire.

Maguire was recently stripped of his United captaincy, and could be on the move this summer.
