Hillsin jockey Dylan Kitts has had his licence suspended with immediate effect and is now banned from attending British racecourses following a disciplinary hearing on Thursday.

Dylan Kitts Sees Licence Suspended After Hillsin Ride

The controversial ride on Hillsin at Worcester last week (see below) was referred to the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) by the stewards and the horse has also been suspended for 40 days which will certainly be a kick in the teeth for owners and connections.

The horse finished third last Wednesday at Worcester and was racing for the first time for trainer Chris Honour. There was a huge drift in the market before the race went off, adding further speculation to the drama. Hillsin appeared to be right in the thick of things after the second-last hurdle with Kitts still motionless.

Kitts was also given a 14-day non-trier ban following a ride at Warwick in May.

The BHA released a statement on Friday morning regarding Dylan Kitts.

“Further to the voluntary standing down by Mr Kitts last Friday, a formal hearing was held on Friday before the deputy chair of the judicial panel.

“By agreement between the parties it has been ordered that Mr Kitts’ licence be suspended with immediate effect and Mr Kitts is prohibited from attending any racecourse in Britain.

“This order will be kept under review and will last until a further order is made, whilst the BHA investigation and potential disciplinary proceedings remain ongoing and which will be dealt with as swiftly as possible.”
