Jarrod Bowen has committed his future to West Ham by signing a new seven year deal – making the England star the club’s highest paid player.

The side from east London have rewarded their leading marksman from the opening weeks of this campaign by extending his stay by seven-years.

Some supporters may be surprised by the new deal, as Bowen had reportedly attracted interest from Newcastle and Liverpool in the summer window.

The former Hull City winger has contributed to six goals in seven Premier League matches this season (five goals & one assist) – meaning he has seen his value sky-rocket.

He will now be the club’s highest paid player, overtaking the likes of Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse whilst still maintaining their wage structure.

David Moyes has been vocal about his desire to keep Bowen at the club for the foreseeable future and has even expressed an interest in converting Bowen to a striker.

Moyes said: “He is still not ready yet, to be a striker, and probably there is the history here of Marko Arnautovic from a winger to a centre forward, and Michail Antonio, but it hasn’t been an easy market to find a centre forward. What he can do is score.

“Can Jarrod be a No.9? We are still sort of in the manufacturing stage to see if we think that can happen.”

The Englishman is set to join up with his national teammates in the coming days, but will first be a vital part in West Ham’s home clash against Newcastle.

Michail Antonio is a doubt for the fixture, meaning the goal scoring responsibility will fall on Bowen’s shoulders – as he looks to repay the club’s faith.
