Jamie Carragher has said that rumours linking Declan Rice to Arsenal are more than that with many believing the West Ham midfielder could be North London bound this summer.

The 24-year-old England star has been heavily linked to a move to Arsenal this season. The Hammers are said to be already preparing to lose their captain this summer.

Rice has made it clear that he wants to reach the very top of the game in recent months. Despite West Ham having a poor season, he’s still stood out as a top player producing some world-class stats.

Rice impressed on Sunday against Arsenal, and Carragher was asked what he thought about the rumours linking him to Mikel Arteta’s side.

“It might be a little more than that, (rumours)” he responded.

After England beat Senegal in the World Cup in Qatar back in December, Rice sent Arsenal fans into frenzy with his post-match comments.

“I’ve been playing consistently well for my club and I feel like I really want to keep pushing. I see my friends here who are playing Champions League and for big trophies,”

These comments suggest that Rice wants to move on to bigger things, and joining Arsenal would certainly be a big move for his career. The former Chelsea youth player is said to be excited by the prospect of moving to the Gunners. He was also spotted exchanging shirts with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard after their game on Sunday.
