Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that James Milner will complete a move to Brighton this Summer, after enjoying eight successful years at Liverpool.

Milner has enjoyed plenty of success during his eight years at Liverpool and the midfielder will move on from Anfield this Summer with seven trophies in his time on Merseyside.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday afternoon that Milner would depart Liverpool for Brighton in a free deal that will last until Summer of 2024.

Milner has been at Liverpool since 2015 when he signed from Manchester City and since then the 37-year-old has picked up a Champions League and a Premier League, as well as five other trophies during his time on Merseyside.

Milner isn’t the only transfer Brighton have completed in the last 24 hours, as the Englishman joins former Watford forward Joao Pedro in joining the Seagulls this Summer after one of the best season’s in the club’s history.

One player who could be on his way to Liverpool from Brighton is Alexis Mac Allister, with the World Cup winner rumoured to be interested in a move away from the Seagulls this Summer.

Two other players have been confirmed to be joining Milner in departing Anfield this Summer today also, as Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are both set to depart for free as their contracts expire this year.

Milner is one of the most experienced players in the Premier League and Brighton have a great signing on their hands, as the veteran midfielder goes into his 22nd season in England’s top division.

With Brighton looking more and more likely to qualify for the Champions League this season with each passing match, Milner could be a key addition to Roberto De Zerbi’s changing room next year.
