James Maddison’s contract with Leicester City is up in less than 18 months, and the 26-year-old is still yet to put pen to paper. We’re taking a look at Maddison’s next club odds with the talented midfielder’s future in doubt.
Maddison has scored nine goals and has five assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season, and has even had the arm band in the last two games.

Newcastle have emerged as the favourites to sign him with Premier League betting sites, and have been heavily interested in the 26-year-old over the past year.
Brendan Rodgers was speaking on Maddison ahead of their clash with Manchester United last weekend.
“For me, it’s about making sure James is playing at the best level he can be. He’s staying available and fit. It’s be great (if he signed a new contract).
“He’s a top player in the league, he’s shown that in his time here gradually. You can see that development take place. We improve players and give them great conditions to work in. But I won’t be begging a player to stay.”

Leicester have a great record for drastically improving players, and have been known for selling players on for a lot more money than what they signed them for.
Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell got the Foxes £80 million (2019) and £50 million (2020) respectively when they moved on to Manchester United and Chelsea. Leicester also sold Wesley Fofana to Chelsea in the summer for £75 million, which was around £4o million more than what they’d paid for him.
