Haydock ITV Horse Racing Trends: Live ITV Racing Stats for Saturday 27th May 2023
1.50 – Betfred TV Hell Nook Handicap Cl2 (4yo+ 0-100) 2m ITV4
With ALL of the last 8 winners aged 4 or 5, then of the seven runners only Solent Gateway, Law Of The Sea, Carzola and Mountain Road fit the bill. Also respect horses that DIDN’T win last time out, then of those already mentioned Solent Gateway and Law Of The Sea are worthy of a second look here.

2.25 – Betfred Silver Bowl Stakes (Handicap) Cl2 1m ITV4
A competitive renewal of this handicap but with 17 of the last 19 winners coming from the top 3 in the betting Convey and Defence Of Fort catch the eye. Being drawn 8 or lower and carrying 9-1 or less are other big trends to look for, which point to Convey, Gincident and James McHenry having a lot going for them.

3.00 – Betfred Nify Fifty Sandy Lane Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 (3yo) 6f ITV4
A top three finish last time out is a ‘must-have – most fit the bill, but Al Dasim, Mill Stream and The Ridler don’t. We’ve also seen 13 of the last 17 winners come from stall 5 or higher, which is a plus for the Frankie Dettori-ridden Little Big Bear (drawn 7), who comes over from the Aidan O’Brien yard.

3.30 –Betfred Temple Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 5f ITV4
Horses aged 6 or older have struggled in recent years, so Raasel and Equilateral will have this to overcome. 65% of the last 20 winners had run in the last 2 months so if you are looking for something to take on the two favourites – Dramatised and The Platinum Queen, this could be it. But it’s not been too back a race for the market leader with 8 of the last 20 winning.
A top three finish last time is another bonus while 9 of the last 13 winners came from stalls 6 or lower. Recent Bath scorer Happy Romance, from stall 2 and for trainer Richard Hannon, seems to have a fair bit on his side, while last year’s close runner-up Twilight Calls looks to have had this race as a target once more for the Henry Candy yard that have won this twice in the past.
- 19/20 – Trained in the UK
- 18/20 – Had won over 5f before
- 17/20 – Won by a horse aged 5 or younger

- Just 2 of the last 18 winners aged 3
- The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 11/2
- 9 of the last 13 winners came from stalls 6 or lower

1.30 – William Hill Festival Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 1m2f ITV4
72% of the last 18 winners came from the top 3 in the betting, while 17 of the last 18 had raced in the last 5 weeks – the last stat would be against the likely favourite Francesco Clemente, who was last out 308-days ago. 4 and 5 year-olds have the best record in recent years, but all the runners this year are that age.
Having raced at Goodwood in the past is another plus, so El Drama, who is eased in grade here, is chanced, while at a big price the only course winner in the field Imperial Fighter could be worth a small interest.
- 17/18 – Had raced within the last 5 weeks
- 14/18 – Had won at least 3 times before
- 13/18 – Came from the top 3 in the betting
- 13/18 – Priced 4/1 or shorter in the betting

- 10/18 – Drawn in stall 5 or lower
- 9/18 – Finished in the top two last time out
- 7/18 – Winning favourites (1 co)
- 2/18 – Ridden by Ryan Moore
- 2/18– Ridden by Tom Queally
- 2/18 – Won last time out
- 2/18 – Trained by Chris Wall
- All of the last 9 winners came from stalls 8 or lower
- The average winning SP in the last 9 runnings is 7/1Â
2.05 – William Hill Harroways Handicap Cl2 (3yo) 7f ITV4
Horses from stalls 2 and 3 have done well – winning 5 of the last 9 – so Tafreej and Urban Sprawl will be trying to uphold this, while 89% came between draws 2-6. A top three finish last time out is another thing to look for and the Hannon and Johnston yards have good record in the race and have runners.
Hannon runs Dark Thirty, Classic and Hectic, while Johnson has the already-mentioned Urban Sprawl, who has the magic 3 draw and just 8-11 in weight.
- 8/9 – Raced in the last 3 weeks
- 8/9 – Came from stalls 2-6 (inc)
- 8/9 – Placed in the top 3 last time out

- 2/9 – Trained by Richard Hannon
- 2/9 – Trained by the Johnston yard
- 2/9 – Â Winning favourites
- 2/9 – Ridden by Andrea Atzeni (2 of last 5 runnings)
- David O’Meara, William Haggas, Richard Hannon (2), Mark Johnston (2), Andrew Balding, William Muir and Mick Channon are the past winning yards
- The average SP in the last 9 runnings is 17/2

York ITV Horse Racing Trends: Live ITV Racing Stats for Saturday 27th May 2023
2.40 – William Hill Epic Boost Handicap Cl2 5f ITV4
6 of the last 8 winners were aged 5 or younger, so this isn’t great news for the older brigade in the race – Mondammej, Zarzyni, Fine Wine, Music Society, Alligator Alley, Copper Knight, who won this in 2017, One Night Stand and Sound Of Iona.
A run in the last 2 weeks is another plus and with 6 of the last 8 failing to win last time out – Korker and Bedford Flyer – catch the eye.
- Only 8 previous runnings
- 6/8 – Raced in the last 2 weeks
- 7/8 – Winning distance ¾ length or less
- 6/8 – Aged 5 or younger
- 6/8 – Didn’t win last time out
- 5/8 – Drawn in stalls 5-9 (inc)
- 3/8 – Aged 3 or 4 years-old
- 3/8 – Returned between 5/1 and 9/1 in the betting
- 2/8 – Aged 4 years-old
- 2/8 – Winning favourites
- Copper Knight won the race in 2017
- The average SP in the last 8 runnings is 12/1
3.15 – Williamhill.com Bronte Cup Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3) (4yo+) Cl1 1m6f ITV4
Just the 4 past runnings, but with ALL four recent winners coming from stalls 5 or lower then even over this 1m6f trip it’s worth noting. We’ve seen 50% of favourites win too and all the past winning trainers are represented again.
Roger Varian, who won the race 12 months ago, runs Voodoo Queen. Andrew Balding has Typewriter, William Haggas has Sea Flawless, while the Gosden’s run One Evening and the likely hot favourite Mimikyu, who is the clear top-rated in the field.
- Just 4 previous runnings
- 4/4 – Aged 4 or 5 years-old
- 4/4 – Drawn in stalls 5 or lower
- 4/4 – Returned 10/1 or shorter in the betting
- 2/4 – Winning favourites
- Trainers Andrew Balding, Roger Varian, John Gosden and William Haggas have won the race in the past
